Background of the ASDS in Sustainable Agriculture

  • ASDS starts Sustainable Agriculture practice activities in 1999 in 10 villages with the support of CSA and Action Aid.
  • Conducted village level training, orientation programs, and Awareness camps on sustainable agriculture.
  • Constructed vermin compost pits, Dug wells in A.V.Gudem, and also cow urine collection sheds in Valumurugondi and Repaka villages.
  • Distributed 100 drums capacity of 200 liters (100 drums) and 100 liters (100 drums) for prepare and storage NPM decoctions.
  • Printed and circulated pamphlets, books on NPM.
  • Sent interested farmers and staff to various training programs on Sustainable Agriculture.
  • Distributed free and subsidy seeds, plants with the help of Action Aid, ICRISAT, and KVK – Pandirimamidi
  • Registered one FPO with the support of NABARD.
  • Conducted Value-added training with the support of NABARD

ASDS work with the Agriculture Department and RSS for the implementation of the ZBNF Project

  • ASDS starts work with the Agriculture Department and RYSS in 2016.
  • ASDS working in 2 clusters i.e. Valumurugondi cluster of Chintur Mandal and 2. Chokkanapally cluster of V.R.Puram Mandal.
  • In August – 2018 ASDS signed MoU with RySS for implementing the ZBNF project in Valumurugondi and Chokkanapally clusters in Chintur, V.R.Puram Mandals of East Godavari districts.

Achievements  in 2019-2020 :

  • Constructed 20 cow sheds with the support of RYSS and Global Green Grant Funds (GGF).
  • Distributed 15 drums of 200 liters capacity to the storage of cow urine for preparation of decoctions Global Green Grant Funds (GGF).
  • Conducted village level training to farmers on the preparation of nonpesticide decoctions.
  • Conducted Crop Cutting Experiments (CCE) in Natural Farming fields and Chemical farming fields to compare yield.
  • Conducted Khareef Action Plan (KAP) and farmer plans.
  • Conducted a 2 days training program to newly appointed Grama Sachivalayam staff of Village Agriculture Assistants (VAA), Village Horticulture Assistants (VHA).
  • Distributed 400 vegetable seed kits (12 varieties in the kit) to farmers to raise kitchen gardens.
  • Covered 388 farmers in this year out of 1412 target farmers in 2 years.
  • Converted 89 farmers as Seed to Seed farmers.
  • 735 farmers motivated to CBO / FPO (Nathan Sangham & Papikondala FPO)
  • 210 Poor of Poor farmers joined in SHG groups
  • Developed 67 active farmers this year.
  • 71 Master Internal Cluster Resource Persons developed.
  • Collected 84 case studies on Natural Farming.
  • Developed 8 Surya Mandal model plots, 8 models of 36 x 36, and 1 Guli ragi model
  • Displayed stalls at every Raitu Bharosa Kendras opening program.
